Home pest control variety

The most common types of termites in the United States are the underground variety. They live in large nests underground and need moisture to survive. They look like little winged ants, and they are highly mobile. Like ants, they create a network of underground tunnels, mud, as well as to bring the soil to the surface and create mounds. Unlike the ant hills, these hills above the ground will often start out as dirt, and then dried to a solid crust. Left alone, some of these colonies thrive for many years and embankments can get several feet tall.

Wood is their favorite food source in nature, they feed on dead trees and stumps, and mulch. Unfortunately, the timber is the same as the dead wood to make these creatures, so that your home becomes a huge box lunch for them. Typically, they begin to have a tree at ground level, and then work your way up to the house. It does not take much time for large-scale damage to be done, as there are thousands of them doing a buffet of your home.
